Chinese wedding at Manchester Town Hall | Jen + Khanh
This was first time in a few years that I had shot a wedding at Manchester Town Hall. Definitely one of my favourite places and has been used for countless TV series over the years. I had previously photographed Jen and Khanh earlier in the year as a way of getting to know each other - which always helps to relax couples on their wedding day. This wedding at Manchester Town Hall though was only part of the full day Chinese celebrations complete with a Chinese Dragon, LOUD firecrackers, and Jen wearing four beautiful outfits. Khan managed three though so wasn't left out ! The day started in a fabulous apartment in Manchesters Northern Quarter - just a short ride to the formal wedding at Manchester Town Hall. After the formal wedding we spent a short time on the rear steps of Manchester Town Hall for a few formal group shots - and then a short portrait session around the town hall including the recently refurbished Manchester Central Library. After this a short trip to the Glamorous chinese restaurant complete with Chinese dragon, a lot of tea, and some "interesting" karaoke at random points of the 10 course banquet. But it didn't finish there - after a very long afternoon we all headed over to the Great John Street hotel for a more intimate celebration - and Jens fourth stunning outfit and sparklers on the rooftop. After an exhausting 14 hour day I was back home tired but extremely happy and privileged to have played a small part in Jen and Khanhs special day in and around Manchester. Here are some of my favourite images from the day.
