Sandhole Oak Barn weddings

Since it first opened its doors for weddings in 2001 Sandhole Oak Barn has become one of the most popular venues in Cheshire for couples who wish to have the space and freedom to create their own unique statement for their wedding day.The most recent wedding that I shot there of Vicki and Marc was a fabulous day.I was honoured to have been chosen to document their day, especially as Vicki had trawled through a lot of websites before coming to see me. Her main criteria was "no cheese" having been to a lot of weddings where the photographer had disappeared with the couple for over 2 hours (yes really!) and made them suffer a variety of "trendy hip poses" that just didnt reflect their personality. I prefer to let the day unfold in front of me and shoot a couple of 20 min sessions depending on the light - often the second session during or after the meal is the best one where the light is kinder and I can more creative with it. The rest of the time I like to observe and record the day as things happen.The day itself started off at Vickis' parents house in Macclesfield - I like to get there a couple of hours before the wedding to shoot some informal getting ready images - and it wasnt long before the champagne was being poured ! After an hour or so it was off to meet Mark in a nearby pub and then to Sandhole oak Barn. What no-one expected was the reaction of Mark when Vicki arrived - I love it when theres some emotion !! After the ceremony it was on to the reception drinks and canapes supplied by Annette from Top Table - which luckily enough was outside after some pretty horrendous previous weeks. Afew creative shots in the fields nearby and a fabulous meal. We popped out at the end of the meal when the light was just fantastic and after some well rehearsed first dance moves I left them to their evening guests. We had to do a very quick edit for the deadline of a local magazine so we met the next day to go through the images - but not 'til late on in the afternoon in the wonderful Snowgoose in Macclesfield.
